24th Annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival
Bayuba Cante - The Netherlands/Cuba

Bayuba's music is based in Santeria. Singer Martha Galarraga is the daughter of one of Cuba's most prominent singers/percussionists in traditional Afro-Cuban music; Lázaro Galarraga grew up deep within the Afro-Cuban traditions and spiritual culture.

Band founder Sjahin During has studied with many of Cuba's master drummers and has studied at the I.S.A. Conservatory in Havana.

Based in the Netherlands, Bayuba Cante brings together an international assembly of talent from Cuba, Holland, Germany, Malta, Brazil, and Iran.
