It's impossible to think about the musical history of Canada without thinking of Sylvia Tyson. From the birth of the genre of singer-songwriter in the early sixties to the birth of what we now call country rock she has played a vital role in the music we hear today. In 1992, Sylvia was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame on the nationally televised Juno Awards and she has received the Order of Canada.
