Starting Points |
The Wyrd Sisters take their name from an ancient Triple Goddess who represented the circular nature of life and the phases of the moon. The trio from Winnipeg delivered powerful harmonies so tight that one voice blends into the other creating a unique experience for the audience.
Joining in with the high-energy spirit of Afro-Cuban music were the three female members of Bayuba Cante.
Monique "Monika" Rasoanirina and Gabrielle "Lala" Raharimahala, the two sisters from Njava presented powerful harmonies from deep within the roots of their native Madagascar. The effect that these eight women created together was a very memorable experience. For the duration of the workshop the audience could have very well been listening to the ultimate "girl band".
